Former Edo State governor Godwin Obaseki has cautioned that politicians who abuse their position of authority will be punished by GodHe claims that political authority is duty bestowed by God to serve the people.

Speaking at an occasion, Obaseki stated that improving the lives of citizens is more important than gaining power for one's own benefit.

He contends that leaders who use their position of authority to profit themselves and their close cronies have betrayed God and the people they were elected to represent. Power, according to him, is divine trust that must be used to serve humanity and exalt God. "God will punish you if you are in politics to gain power and that power is exclusively for you, your pals, and those close to you," he declared. "Because do not see how you will achieve it if God has given you strength and you can not use it directly for Him, glorifying Him."

The former governor stated that he would not alter his strategy if given another chance and that he had no regrets regarding his tenure in office.

Obaseki cautioned that attempts to undermine policies put in place by his administration will eventually hurt common people rather than former leaders. "I suggest you contribute to what you met, not destroy it, when see individuals trying to ruin what we did," he stated. "I am not being harmed by you.
If you take away health insurance or shut down hospitalswill be the one receiving care there? It is possible that your sibling will require medical care at the hospital you have refused to open tomorrow.

"Given that so many people are suffering and unable to eat, how can someone acquire power today, sleep soundly, and be happy? What is the point? You do not understand the purpose since God has given you authority.
