Governor Mohammed Umaru Bagom sacks 30 special advisers


The governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bagom, has removed 30 special advisers from their positions as part of a plan to reorganize his government.

This was announced in a statement released on Tuesday, December 16, by Bologi Ibrahim, the governor's chief press secretary.

He explained that the decision is meant to improve the way the state is governed.

According to the statement, the governor made the announcement during his first Council meeting with the newly inaugurated commissioners at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Minna.

Bologi explained that the affected advisers were disengaged to enable the governor review, realign and reposition the advisory roles to improve effectiveness and efficiency in line with the New Niger agenda.

He added that the governor expressed appreciation to the advisers for their sacrifices and contributions to the administration and wished them success in their future pursuits.
