A pregnant mother and her 18-month-old boy were killed by unknown assailants in Sheka Sabuwar Gandu, Kano.

According to reports, after he forced the door open, he discovered the lifeless bodies of his wife and child, both of whom had been attacked and burned.
Ahmad Sani, a community leader who confirmed the event to Punch, criticized the lack of security presence in the region, despite citizens constructing a police station through collaborative efforts.
"For a long time, the community built a police outpost, but the authorities have yet to assign troops to man the station," Sani explained.
He urged Kano State Police Commissioner Ibrahim Bakori to immediately send personnel to the outpost to improve security and prevent further attacks.
CSP Abdullahi Haruna, spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, confirmed the event on Sunday and said the investigation is underway.
"Yes, the incident occurred, but we are examining the situation," the PPRO stated.
