He made this disclosure during a New Year service at Sacred Heart Parish in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Akpabio explained that he had previously filed about nine court cases against people he accused of defamation and slander.
However, he said his decision changed after listening to the sermon delivered by the priest during the service.
“I had nearly nine cases in court against individuals who defamed me, lied against me, and slandered my name. But as I listened to the priest, I suddenly realised he was speaking to me,” Akpabio said.
He explained that the message in the sermon touched him deeply and inspired him to forgive those involved, leading to his decision to withdraw all legal actions.
“Therefore, I hereby direct my solicitors to withdraw all lawsuits against them,” the Senate President stated.
