Tragedy in Yobe as Road Accident Claims Three Lives, Six Injured

A catastrophic traffic accident along Potiskum traffic at Mile-5, Yobe State, resulted in three fatalities and six injuries.

Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency (YOROTAPublic Relations Officer Musa Ali Maigari attested to this. The tragedy happened on Friday, December 26, at around 12:00 pm, according to statement released by Maigari on Saturday, December 27. Babagana Alhaji Modu Bature Goniri, MBA, MINSTA, General Manager and Corps Commandant of YOROTA, promptly sent the Agency's Rescue Squad to the spot for emergency intervention after receiving the distress report. According to preliminary investigations, ruptured tire was the cause of the collision. "The injured people were quickly evacuated to the Yobe State Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, for urgent medical attention by the YOROTA Rescue Squad in coordination with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and YEMABUS," the statement continued. The statement said that the organization prayed for the injured people's quick recovery and offered its sincere sympathies to the grieving families. In order to prevent similar fatalities, it further advised drivers to rigorously adhere to traffic safety regulations and perform routine vehicle inspections, particularly on tires.
