Barcelona has revealed that midfielder Pedri González would be sidelined for many weeks due to a hamstring injury.
In the second half of Barcelona's 4-2 victory over Slavia Prague on the road in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, the 23-year-old was hurt.
The club said that Pedri has a muscular issue to his right hamstring and would likely be sidelined for around a month after medical evaluations.
He will not play in Barcelona's final league-phase Champions League game against FC Copenhagen next week due to the injury. Additionally, he is anticipated to miss forthcoming La Liga matches against Girona, Mallorca, Elche, and Real Oviedo.
Pedri would also be unavailable for the first leg of the semi-final match, which is set for the following week, if Barcelona defeats Albacete in the Copa del Rey on February 3.
This most recent setback is terrible for Barcelona, who are about to embark on a challenging run of domestic and European games, and it adds to the Spain international's string of fitness issues in previous seasons.
