23 Years Old Man beheads his father

A 23-year-old man named Innocent Owusu has been detained by police in Likpe Abrani, Ghana's Oti Region, for alleged murder of his 59-year-old father, Peter Owusu. According to a police statement, the incident happened at the family's home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. 

According to investigations, the suspect fled the scene after beheading his father.

However, Innocent Owusu was eventually apprehended at his hiding place in a jungle close to Abrani based on information acquired by the police.

According to the authorities, the deceased's head and decapitated corpse have since been found and placed at the Hohoe Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.  

Currently in police custody, the suspect is helping with continuing investigations and is anticipated to be handled legally.

Residents of Likpe Abrani were praised by the Oti Regional Police Command for their prompt cooperation and help, which helped the suspect be apprehended.
